Story


As Asian Americans, we grew eating both old school Hong Kong pastries and American breads. From pineapple buns and hot dog buns to loaves of processed wonder bread.


Over time, we've seen European artisanal breads grow in popularity. Kaya was founded in 2020 to bring Asian pastries to the forefront as well.


At Kaya, we combine the refinement of French techniques with Asian and global flavors.


We source sustainable and single-origin ingredients from around the world to bring the bay area truly unique flavor experiences. Real ingredients bring a whole new flavor dimension to the table. Chocolate can be fruity and floral. Vanilla can be sweet and smoky.


Kaya embodies a modern take on wabi-sabi. Imperfections in our pastries are both beautiful and intentional. Each pastry is an organic part of nature and made by human hands.
